Thanks to Waterstones for this advance review copy.

This is the first Patrick Gale book I have read, but I can’t see it being the last.

This book gets hold of your heart and just keeps on squeezing, so full of emotion.

Highly recommended!

OMG!!! You must read this book. I didn’t know what to expect but expect the unexpected. This is a truly emotional novel. Harry Crane is displaced to Canada, effectively exiled for his love of another man who betrays him. He unwillingly leaves a wife and child in London. It is this rebuilding of his life and his journey across the Atlantic that he realise of what he had and lost in London. Disowned by his brother and isolated in another country he begins a new life. This new life is full of twists and turns that I couldn’t put this book down. I felt so sorry for Harry for his past life that he lost. Did he find love in Canada? You will have to read the book and find out!
