Firstly, thank you to the publishers for this early review copy.
I had heard good things about this book before I started reading it so I had high expectations.
The verdict: Addictive, compelling, excellent!
I lost a lot of sleep finishing this as it was just too good to put down.
Starts with university days in Oxford where you may just decide which characters you like, dislike and it takes you later into their lives…
I would be very happy if I could get my hands on other novels by him, but sadly this is a debut so I have to wait!
Very happy to recommend this on to others, but be warned it will get under your skin!

One Response so far.

Thanks for another great recommendation Fiona. I loved A Version of the Truth by B P Walter. Thank you to Harper Insider and Avon books for the review copy.

The book starts in present day Knightsbrige as Julianne is getting ready to host a Christmas party at her house. As the evening goes on we find out more about the pasts of the main guests (Oxford University in the 90s) and the reasons why the evening turns out like it does.

I love the growing sense of dread from the very first chapter and the way in which the truth is slowly revealed to us by intertwining the events in Oxford during 90s with the present day throughout the book. The characters are brilliantly described and the fast-paced nature of the book will keep you coming back for more.

Can’t wait for Walter’s next book!
