Well I always check out the children’s world book day books…..so many brilliant authors have got involved over the years and this year is no exception…
When I started reading this one I had never read David Almond before, even though I have heard so many great things about him.
The Island is set ‘locally’ to me on holy island, a place I visited many times in my childhood although I haven’t been back for years maybe that will change this year.
The book is brilliant and manages to cover a few current issues in this very slim edition.
Most certainly recommended!
