Thank you to the publishers for this review copy, I had not heard of it until I saw it listed as one of the books for Series 3 of Between The Covers with Sara Cox so having enjoyed the book selections from the previous 2 series I just had to dive straight in on arrival.
This is a well written novel, easy to absorb yourself in to it’s plot. You really will be happy to sit and read in one go.
It starts with a middle aged lady sorting though her mum’s things after she has died, she has never known anything about her father and wonders if she might uncover anything now.
This takes us on a search for her father in a far flung country, it isn’t going to be straight forward. Whilst pursuing her father her marriage is facing divorce. This book looks at our identity, race, nationality and family. In part it is funny whilst also holding an element of danger close by, who can she really trust to help her find her father and what happens if she does get to meet him?
Very happy to recommend on to others and I would definitely be interested in reading any other books by Chibundu Onuzo.
