This is a beautifully illustrated book with a heart breaking story.
I was drawn to this book as I applaud people trying to shed light on this crisis and of course because he is a brilliant author.
This was inspired by the 3 year old refugee, who was washed up on a beach in 2015, after drowning in the Med trying to reach Europe.
In the year after this boy’s death 4,176 people died or went missing in similar circumstances, attempting to reach safety.
The author is donating his proceeds to the UN Refugee Agency and the Khaled Hosseini Foundation, to help refugees around the world.
