The moment this was announced as longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction 2025 I reserved this from the nearest shop that had it in stock.
The reason being is that I had previously absolutely loved An Island by Karen which had been booker longlisted a couple of years ago.
The Crooked Seeds is a fabulous piece of writing that I would love to move forward to the shortlist.
Given how much I loved An Island and now this latest Crooked Seeds I really must check out the back list.
In Crooked Seeds Deirdre is an excellent character and it looks at her relationship with all her family members and you really feel for the situation she has found herself in.
But things about her past are going to be unearthed by the police.
Absolutely recommended.
