I had no expectations for this book before starting it, I hadn’t predicted it’s win and I have never read this author before.
It starts off as the main character is a teenager, a very raw, coming of age and somewhat violent start, certainly not what I had expected.
The novel looks at this one persons life, their struggles, their finances, their love life and their family life.
I was absolutely captivated by it and found it a very easy read.
There are no superfluous words, you don’t get dragged in to pages where nothing happens, this is a taut brilliantly written novel.
Absolutely recommended and now of course I am going to have to look at his back list.
