This is a historical crime series where William Shakespeare is the ‘detective’.
Muse of Fire is book 2 in the series and I would certainly suggest you read the first book before diving into this one.
Book 1 appears to have two titles… A Serpent in the Garden (hardback) and Players of Death (paperback).
The plot is of course brilliant, Howard is an excellent writer.
It is clear that the period has been very well researched and there is no doubt as you read that you are in exactly that time period where danger lurks around every corner.
No one can be trusted and peril awaits everyone including William Shakespeare.
Murder, play writing and theatre moving what more can a plot need?
Book 3 is now obviously keenly awaited.
