Thank you to the publishers for this early review copy, I absolutely adored Claire’s debut ‘Talking at Night’, so I started this with the highest of expectations.

My verdict – Magnificent!

At times I feel Claire was trying to break my heart… her characters are totally superb!
Nora, Robin & Bren are simply brilliant. You will love them so much, but will you have a favourite?
The storyline was exquisite I could not put the book down and did not take kindly to people trying to talk to me while I was reading.
The story looks at friendships, family and grief. I had been warned I would need tissues – I did not need tissues.

I won’t give any spoilers but there was a scene in the shed when my heart melted and I knew then that Nora knew the decision she was making.
The mothers are also wonderful characters and their part in the story helping Bren with his grieving process was lovely.
I did not see the ending coming!

Very happy to recommend both People In Love and Talking at Night to anyone who loves a great fiction read.

Of course I am now wondering what Claire will write next and how long will I need to wait to read it.
