I’ve previously read and absolutely loved Now We Shall Be Entirely Free by Andrew Miller so when I saw his latest book The Land in Winter was longlisted for The Booker 2025 I just knew I would be reading it. Then it was also shortlisted so obviously flew straight into my hands.
But sadly while many people are loving this read it didn’t hit the spot for me.
I found it too easy to pop down and go do something else.
It was of course still beautifully written but for me it fell short of Now We Shall Be Entirely Free.
But we all enjoy different books at different times in our lives so give it a go, he remains an excellent author.
