I read this straight after Falling Fast which I loved. (Book 1 in the series)
The Storm is book 2 in the McGregor and Drummond series (Doug and Susie)
The Storm works perfectly well as a standalone read, however the dynamics between the main characters are so much better for having read Falling Fast first – so I do recommend if possible you read these in order.
The crime is striking, complex and very well weaved into the plotting to ensure that if you think you’ve cracked it – you haven’t. You are just a step closer. I didn’t crack it.
Fantastically paced and great tension ensured that I was still reading this after midnight as I just had to finish it before sleeping.
Neil is an excellent crime thriller author and I recommend both this series and his Connor Fraser series to all crime thriller fans.
