I will first say that this is Woody’s debut novel and having read it I will now be standing in line for his next book – this was such a very special read!

The back of the book informed me of the following:
In 2022, Woody Brown became the first nonspeaking autistic graduate of UCLA, where he received the English Department’s top writing honours.

So as I read this book I felt these characters were coming from a very special place in his heart and their stories were told with such love and care that they easily found a place in my heart too. At times the book made me smile, other times I could have wept.
This story gave me a different perspective to consider and I feel that Woody could achieve great things both as a writer and through his words getting people to stop and think about what they witness in other people.

A book I think that will truly open people’s eyes!
