The review below is from my husband, I won’t be reading this book for one reason – he actually continually read it out loud to me! There was no escape – he loved it.

When I first picked up the book, all I remembered of Ben Elton was his stand-up routine on TV in a sparkly suit saying “…. Little bit of politics….” and had a vague recollection of his involvement in several other TV shows such as Blackadder and the Young Ones (two of my favourite shows of the era).

I didn’t know what happened in the following years that made him seemingly disappear from the TV world, and how much other writing he did.

He also knows an amazing range of people and reveals a lot of the inner workings of the industry. An excellent read for sure.
