Having previously read and enjoyed both Armistice Runner and D-Day Dog I knew this would be an excellent read.
This is expertly told, gently covers the dreadful situation the boys had been in before reaching Windermere and it covers how they were took to Windermere for safety.
Very happy to recommend this to young, old, teachers, parents, grandparents – anyone.
This should certainly start off many conversations about what happened during the war but also what happened to people after the war.
