This book would never have come to my attention if it hadn’t been longlisted for the Booker prize this year.
Having now read it, I very much hope it will also be shortlisted and that many more people will discover it!
I don’t like to give away too much in my reviews so just to say at times it gave me vibes of ‘A Whole life by Robert Seethaler’.
The main character lives alone on the island, he has very few visitors but someone is about to wash a shore and things will change.
Brilliantly written, impossible to put down, loved both the main characters and I have happily recommended this to many since finishing it on Friday night.
I’ve now read 7 of this years Booker longlist, this one is currently in my top 3 along with Klara & the Sun and Bewilderment.
