A unique style of book. Kept the pages turning. Recommended. I truly sympathised with the main character and her family.

A brilliant, clever book, both funny and haunting. It is now one of my all time favourite novels.

This was a very good debut. The main character is Maud an elderly lady who is suffering from dementia. Emma Healey wrote in such a way that I felt that I was getting a true impression of the mind of a dementia sufferer. It was sad, harrowing and frustrating seeing events from Maud’s view. It gave me a complex understanding of the many views of dementia from the carers, family, neighbours and the world at large. Most importantly though the story did not suffer, it was still a great page turner and I will definitely read Emma Healey’s next book.
