Well I had heard so much about it – but never read it.
Some people rave about it, others don’t seem so impressed – this is all I need to know that I have to read it and form my own opinion.
Now I have read and loved a few Ian McEwan books over the years but for some reason this one had so far escaped me.
The book was nothing like I had imagined it might be… but it is so full of hidden worries, hidden emotions… that you really want the main characters to own up too, to speak about, to share. I can certainly see why it is a book everyone wants to discuss.
