Thank you to the publishers and Simon for arranging this early review copy. I have been quite the fan of Simon’s writing since reading Sanctus many years ago. Very happy to recommend all his books but obviously read the separate series in their correct order.
This book is book 2 in the Dr Laughton Rees Series, dark objects is first. Each is a story within it’s self so don’t panic too much if you read these two out of order.
In The Clearing Simon has very much built the suspense and tense around the surroundings you find yourself within, the usual points of contact for help are giving you cause for concern, but you suspect something is very much wrong and has been for sometime… but given the geographic area things are going to get bumpy!
Very Much like the Dr Laughton Rees character and I am not ‘patiently’ awaiting the next instalment.
So if you haven’t read Simon’s books before – what are you waiting for?
