This book has been selected by Series 4 between the covers as a good read from the jubilee books.
When researching this book, I learnt that this was a great comic novel of the 20th century. So I was expecting laughs throughout.
It was funny in places, but I probably wouldn’t describe it as a funny read.
I thought it was a good read, enjoyed the plot. Loved the relationship between the husband and his mother in law.
Pleased to have read it. Would also recommend it, but perhaps the humour just wasn’t for me?
