I have seen this book on twitter so much and with noting but fabulous reviews from every corner but prior to that I had never heard of this author. It’s very clear that I have been missing out. I was lucky enough to read another of his books last week Blood Ties, which I loved. So my current mission is to catch up on all his 11 books to date.
So back to this book, this is a standalone read, partly set 30 years ago and partly current. If gives you a real experience of Northern Ireland at the time. You will be hanging on his every word just sipping away. This book will stay with you for a long time afterwards.
It is thought provoking, tense, moving but above all brilliantly written.
