Thank you to the publishers for this review copy. I don’t think I will ever get over the events in the concentration camps which happened to so many.
I’m quite sure I only know a very small part of the suffering people went through and the heroic acts of kindness that were also present in these camps as everyone tried to survive the dreadful conditions.
This is a great read, although of course utterly heart breaking and then you reach the end of the book and you might want to reach for a tissue…
Wim Aloserij survived three concentration camps, his story is one you can’t put down. You read about his suffering and that of others around him. How they survived the tasks and punishments assigned. The lack of nutrition, medical care and basic hygiene and you just have to wonder how you could possibly have the strength to survive these conditions.
Absolutely recommended with tissues.
