I have previously read and loved Magpie Lane by Lucy Atkins so when Lucy popped into work a couple of weeks ago with a review copy of Windmill Hill I was eager to secure this as my copy – so I kindly got Lucy to sign and dedicate this to me.

This is a beautifully written story about female friendship. Two very different women have been friends for years, they have each other’s backs. Their lives seem a little eccentric at times. It also seems to be carrying some very painful memories, their lives have not been easy or straight forward.
The windmill they live in has a past equally as eccentric and it is just waiting to be uncovered, but meanwhile it needs to be maintained to keep a safe roof over their heads.
The characters are so well constructed you really take them to heart and you long for everything to be ok for them. Loved this book and I am very happy to recommend this and Magpie lane on to others.
