Shortlisted for Women’s Prize for Fiction 2023.

When I saw this book longlisted for the women’s prize for fiction I fell in love with the cover.
Then I bought a copy after it was shortlisted and it was ‘pinched’ from me by another reader – who LOVED IT – but didn’t return it.
So I bought another copy and this time I managed to read it – in one sitting in fact – late into the night because I just had to know how it turned out.

This book is a magnificent read and I would not be surprised if it won The Women’s Prize for fiction this year.
If you put yourself in the main characters situation as you read would you find the same strength, kindness and resilience? This reads as if the author was there herself, very accomplished. I am very happy to recommend it on to all and I promise to buy whatever Priscilla writes next. This is a debut! A fantastic debut – it deserves all the praise.
