Thank you to the publishers for this early review copy. Now this is going to be a tricky review while avoiding all possible spoilers.
So firstly, I will say that I would be very interested to see what Alexis writes next as this one really played with my head.
At times I thought the characters were great, other times I thought them wooden – but this all plays into the plotting – that I can’t say much about.
It kept me guessing, wondering what was happening, why was she doing the things she was doing, why were other people behaving in such ways… something wasn’t sitting right with me and I was wondering how I was going to end up rating the book… I was conflicted – but again I can’t give too much away.
Ultimately all I am prepared to say is this might end up being a marmite book. Some people are going to love it, others maybe not. But I certainly think it will play with your head and I would happily recommend and gift it to friends as I need to see how they find it.
