So this book is longlisted for the Women’s Prize for fiction, as I like to attempt to read most of them I bought a copy.
Now I will confess that I was in two minds about it before buying it, but I read the first page and decided I definitely wanted to read it.
Yet I am sitting on the fence with three stars, I think this could be a marmite book – some will love it and others might not – I am undecided – there were parts of it I loved and other parts I simply didn’t. However, it’s good to be challenged in what we like to read so I’m not disappointed and can certainly see why it is and should be included in the Women’s Prize longlist. I would also say that I will certainly cheek out future books for Sheena Patel.
So in conclusion buy it and see for yourself.
