Winner of the Booker Prize 1993, it didn’t reach my reading pile then – but it did when it was announced as a book choice for Between The Covers series 7 on BBC 2 in 2023!
It is beautifully written, laugh out loud funny in so many places but it is also very dark, sad and heart breaking too.
Absolutely recommended.
