Thank you to Tony who sent me an early review copy, signed and dedicated.
I read the Odessa File by Frederick Forsyth so very long ago… and I have read all of Tony’s books to date.
But my first question was should I reread The Odessa File before reading this?
Now for those who know me I tend to avoid a reread so I took the decision to start Revenge of Odessa without rereading The Odessa File and promised myself that if I felt the experience was lacking I would reread and start it again…
I adored Revenge of Odessa from the first few pages and did not reread The Odessa File – so my verdict – reread if you wish but even if you have never read or like me read it so very long ago this book will still be absolutely SUPERB!
I am prepared to state that if this book doesn’t end up being my book of the year then I have some cracking reads ahead for 2025. To give you a little perspective on this statement – this is the 151st book I’ve read in 2025 – so there are still some contenders that could take the top spot in the next 6 months.
The TENSION in this book was brilliant! My entire body remains TENSE as I try to gather my thoughts into some kind of useful fashion to review.
The PACE ensured that I was desperately trying to avoid everything else in my life to read this at every opportunity. Just didn’t want to put it down.
The PLOT was brilliant, a masterpiece of writing. I was so absorbed in it I surprised myself when amongst all this tension I laughed out loud towards the end… a cracking one liner on page 410.
Friends and family have been plagued by messages about this book already – so I do trust they and YOU will get this book pre ordered before publication in October.
Then you can stand behind me awaiting future books in what I trust could become a great new series.
ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED!
Hope my review does this book justice – totally loved it!
