A friend suggested I read it as part of our book group so of course I did.
I will always give an honest review with no spoilers, so my reading progressed fine for the first 60 pages ish, but then I had reason to pop it down and read another book that required urgent attention… this book didn’t shout at me to pick it back up – it just whispered quietly so to an extent I ignored it, sorry.
Then last night I picked it back up and read the next 40 pages before sleeping… but this morning it was beginning to shout quite loudly for my attention and has not let me rest until I finished it!
So my conclusion, a slow burn, a steady pace, a plot that requires your pay full attention – but the last 200 pages do not let you rest.
