Thank you to the publishers and S J Fleet / The Secret Barrister for this early review copy.
I had watched it land with several of my favourite authors last week and I admit I was a tad jealous so I was delighted when it arrived on Friday night. (Even if I was working all day Saturday).
My Verdict: I loved it and I have already checked to see if I can see news of a second book yet. I was completely hooked in from the first page.
At times I thought if I was the wife of the victim how would I feel about this process? If I was the parent or sibling of one of the accused would I feel different?
Did I always have confidence in the process? Was I convinced the right result would be achieved for this situation?
Before you continue reading I suggest you pause and get it pre ordered or you are going to be the only person not talking about this book in August!
A crime has been committed, arrests have been made and this is all about the trial process.
At the start of the trial I had thoughts about who was guilty and why the crime had been committed.
As the trial progressed you find yourself reconsidering your initial thoughts, were you right, were you partially right or entirely wrong?
The jury ultimately make the final decisions as we know in this kind of trial based on the evidence presented, but I found myself querying how could they be sure of the decision to make… can you ever be 100% sure? This book will haunt me for a while I feel…
Absolutely recommended!
Don’t forget to pre order.
