Wild Dark Shore was longlisted for Women’s Prize for Fiction 2026 and ahead of the longlist announcement I had seen this book raved about everywhere so although I bought it early days it was the 12th book I read from the longlist as sometimes the hype can put me off.
However, I am pleased to say that I thought this was a highly accomplished piece of writing.
The characters were superb, the ability to cast me on that island and leave me there for the duration of the book was outstanding.
I was so invested in these characters and their situation that I simply didn’t want it to end.
Whatever Charlotte is writing next please sign me up now.
